Meet the team
I qualified in 1999 from the University of Bristol and have worked in the Nottingham/Derby area in small animal practice since then. I became a Practice owner in March 2013 and I am enjoying helping the practice to grow and develop. I have 3 cats, who have all been adopted through work.
My main interests in the veterinary field are soft tissue surgery and feline medicine.
My other interests outside of work include sewing, reading and baking.
Lucy qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2017 and worked in mixed practice for 2 years before joining Companion Care Derby Kingsway in September 2019. She joined the practice to pursue her small animal interests, particularly internal medicine, anaesthesia and also a growing interest in rabbit medicine.
She has a black Labrador called Chester who she enjoys taking for long walks in the Derbyshire countryside. She also has 2 cats.
Tugce graduated from Ankara University in 2022 and then worked in mixed practice in Turkey to gain experience. She moved to the UK in January 2023 to join the Derby Kingsway team and is excited to gain further experience especially in internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.
Back home, she has 2 adopted cats.
Michelle began working as a Veterinary Nurse in 2000 and qualified in 2003. She has worked in the Nottingham area before moving to Derby Kingsway in November 2015. Michelle enjoys all aspects of her work but particularly likes dealing with small furries.
Michelle became our Senior Veterinary Nurse in July 2023.
Outside of work she spends time with her 2 children but also enjoys walking, cycling and training in tetsudo martial arts. She has a rabbit called Parsley and a cat called Mittens.
Becky joined the practice in January 2024 having previously trained at another vets in Belper. She enjoys nurse consults, chatting to and getting to know our clients. She also enjoys the laboratory work that the job entails.
Outside of work, Becky does aerial hoop and watercolour painting and has a dog called Elise.
Kerris joined the practice in September 2021 as a Veterinary Care Assistant having previously worked as a Veterinary receptionist for an out of hours practice. She is enjoying being more 'hands on' with the patients. In September 2022 she started her Veterinary Nurse training which she is working hard at.
She loves all things Springer Spaniel and outside of work she likes baking and travelling.
Maisie joined the practice in May 2023 after completing a couple of placements here previously. She completed the rest of her training and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in June 2024. She enjoys the practical side of nursing and interacting with patients and clients.
She has a dog and two cats, one of which was adopted through the practice. Outside of work she rides horses and goes running.
Lucy joined the practice in June 2022 after completing a BSc in Animal Biology. She is loving working with animals and has started her Vet Nurse training in September 2023. Her favourite animal is a dog and she owns a labrador called Ozzy.
In her free time she enjoys going to the gym and for long walks.
Carol joined the Derby Kingsway team in July 2019 having previously worked as a Doctor's receptionist. She is enjoying meeting the clients and pets although the closest thing she has to a pet herself is a pond full of goldfish!
Outside of work, she is a fitness fanatic, enjoying going to the gym and yoga. She also enjoys walking challenges and gardening.
Debbie started work at Kingsway in November 2016. She enjoys all aspects of her job but particularly likes meeting the clients and their pets. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her 3 children, her family and friends.
Fran joined the practice in August 2024 having previously worked in a boarding kennels. She is enjoying meeting the clients and their pets whilst on reception.

Companion Care Derby Kingsway is committed to bringing you affordable, high quality care via a modern, well equipped practice, including a lab, pharmacy, digital x-ray (including dental xray), therapy laser and ultrasound. Plus, on site car parking too!
The practice has been awarded Silver Standard Cat Friendly Status, first in 2013, and has kept this ever since, being re-accredited in 2022. We have also recently been awarded Silver Rabbit Friendly Status.
