Exciting news...
We are having an extension, and we will also be getting a fresh new look and feel, as we update our branding and name to become a new Vets for Pets practice. Appointments will continue as usual and you will still receive the same expert service, from the same great team. We are also pleased to welcome two new vets, a new head nurse and a new registered veterinary nurse to the team!

Meet the team
Dr Michelle Akande
Joint Venture Partner and Veterinary Surgeon
BVSc, MRCVS
I’m Michelle, Joint Venture Partner here at New Malden. I can't believe I graduated so long ago in 1999 and have no idea where the time has gone- I guess time flies when you are having fun!
Going to work as a vet is something I still enjoy every day- I love my patients and find the work stimulating and challenging, never knowing what the day will hold. Choosing not to specialise I really enjoy the variety that general practice brings and I particularly value the relationships that I have developed, and continue to develop with my clients. My team at New Malden are compassionate and fun and they bring a lot of joy to my days too.
Outside of work I have lots of fun with my young son and like to wind down with a book if I ever get a quiet moment.
I look forward to meeting you and your pets every day. See you soon :-)
I graduated from Bristol University in 2016 and have been working since as a small animal vet. I love the variety of animals I get to see on a daily basis and am looking forward to working at Companion Care, having volunteered here as a student.
In my spare time I'm often found running around after my troublesome cat Blue, or out with my friends. .
I graduated from St Petersburg State Academy of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 and worked mainly with exotic and zoo animals in Russia.
I have profound interest in exotic animal medicine and love working with my colleagues here at Companion Care Vets New Malden.
Outside work I like reading, cycling, meeting my friends and spending time with my home zoo of pets!

I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse here at Companion Care. I enjoy working with the team and being able to look after all the different type of pets that come to our surgery especially those that I am not already familiar with.
I have three dogs; Lucky, Brandy and Smokey. I also enjoy following fashion and going to see my favourite artists play live.
I joined the lovely team here at New Malden in 2019 after working as a Veterinary Care Assistant for many years. I started my Student Veterinary Nursing course in September 2021. I enjoy all aspects of Veterinary medicine and especially love nursing our exotic patents. I also have a keen interest in Emergency and critical care.
Outside work I enjoy spending time with friends and family studying (lots!) and caring for my pet rats.
I started working at this practice in April 2024, and I have been very lucky to work with such dedicated and incredible people! Getting experience from a place like this can really help to learn a lot more about not just the patients, but the clients too and I am very excited about where this leads me in the future.
In my spare time, I love to watch my favourite tv shows and meet up with my friends.
I joined this lovely team in February 2023 as a Veterinary Care Assistant. I started my Veterinary Nursing course in January 2024. I love working here with a variety of species and my lovely colleagues.
I’m Joolz, Practice Manager here at New Malden. I have been working in Veterinary Practice since 1999 and have worked in many different surgery’s, starting at the RSPCA in Putney, where I trained to be a Veterinary Nurse. My career took me as far out as Australia to help out in the RSPCA in Sydney which was fantastic! I progressed into a Head Nurse role in 2006 then moved into practice management in 2011. I joined Companion Care in October 2018 and have loved the can do attitude of our team. I am still a Registered Veterinary Nurse and will on occasion help out with the pets when needed. I don’t have any pets at the moment but love seeing all the pets that come in each day and love them like they are my own!
My name is Sandra I’ve worked as part of the Reception team at companion care since November 2021 after a career change, I love working here, I get to meet all the different pets when they check in and get to talk to their owners as well. I have an 11 year old dog who I’ve had since he was 8 weeks old I love taking him for walks although his walks are getting shorter now he’s getting on a bit. I have two daughters and love to travel and spend as much time outdoors as possible.
My name is Debbie. I have been in the veterinary industry for about 8 years, I started at Companion Care In March 2022 and am enjoying being part of an amazing team. I enjoy gardening and going to the theatre in my spare time.
I began my Journey at companion care as a veterinary care assistant, but I found I really enjoyed customer care. I decided to change roles and now work among the team as an administrator, always happy to be of assistance.
Companion Care New Malden is committed to bringing you affordable, high quality care via a modern, well equipped practice, including a lab, pharmacy, digital x-ray and ultrasound. Plus, on site car parking too!
The friendly team can't wait to meet all of their new clients!
