Meet the team
I qualified in South Africa 25 years ago and whilst working at a central Tamworth veterinary surgery in the late 1990s I met my wife Sharon who is Companion Care Tamworth's practice manager. Sharon has always been surrounded by dogs and horses at home, has commercial experience working for two different Birmingham-based cosmetic companies. After returning to get married and work on our farm in South Africa for a few years, we returned to the UK in November 2003, and joined Companion Care to open our surgery in Tamworth in 2005. In my spare time I enjoy to watch and play rugby, however more watching than playing these days!
I joined the team back in march 2006, and now I’m a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse
Clinical interests: I enjoy medical nursing, behavioural clinics, and puppy and kitten nursing checks
What do you love about the practice and team? I love that we and more like family then colleagues we are close knit, we work together and are a support network for one another. Puppy cuddles make things better too!!!
What pets do you have? I have a 11 year old Staffordshire bull terrier, Ringo, who is a soft teddy bear, 5 year old Poodle cross , Max who is also known as tatty he’s like Tigger very bouncy. Then I have blue blue the angora cross bunny.
What are your hobbies & Interests? I love spending like with family and friends, and going to the gym when I can!
What makes you happy? Me time, spending time with those closest to me, Doggy kisses and Puppy cuddles
Abby joined the team in 2013 as a registered veterinary nurse. She became our clinical coach for trainee nurses, Leanne and Megan in late 2015.
She enjoys all aspects of nursing but has a particular focus on in-patient care and anaesthesia. She spends her spare time with her family which includes Barnaby the rabbit as well as Eric and Rom the elderly kitties.
My name is Lauren and I started at Companion Care in September 2017.
What do you love about the practice and team? I love the team ethic within the practice, we all help each other out and always work together to provide the best care for the patients we treat.
What pets do you have? An African Grey parrot called Jake and lots of fish!
What are your hobbies & Interests? I love to travel and socialising with my friends
What makes you happy? Spending time with my family & exploring new places
