Endoscopy

Endoscopy is a procedure that we offer here at Companion Care Croydon. We have three different types of scopes including the gastroscope, the bronchoscope and the rigid scope or rhinoscope. There are many reasons that an endoscope could be used. The most common uses in veterinary are looking for abnormalities or growths in the back of the nose and throat, taking biopsies from various parts of the digestive system less invasively and taking fluid samples from the respiratory tract to be able to make diagnoses that may not be able to be made otherwise.

Endoscopy

Ultrasound

Ultrasonography is a service we provide here at companion care. We have a high tech ultrasound machine that allows the veterinarians and the nurses to look at real time images of your animal’s internal organs and body systems which gives us details that may be missed on x-ray alone. It is painless and does not give off radiation unlike x-ray. We use a system which allows us to compare previous scans to see if there is a differential which is helpful in palliative care and general management of conditions.

Ultrasound

Digital X-Ray

X-ray is a critical feature that we have here at companion care. It gives the veterinarian’s and nurse’s a snapshot picture of your pet’s internal structures. It is useful for a range of different diagnoses from foreign bodies where a pet may have eaten something they should have not, to broken bones or fractures and can even be used for an estimate of a size of a litter of puppies or kittens. Our new digital x-ray allows us to take the x-ray and the image be ready in seconds which can be critical for emergencies.

Digital X-ray pic CC

Orthopaedics

Orthopaedic surgery is something we offer here at companion care, emergency, urgent and routine cases can be taken on here. Once x-rays have been taken of your pet’s limbs/joint we can diagnose any conditions and discuss management with medication or surgery. We have external orthopaedic surgeons that come in and perform the surgery on your pets and our vets perform the follow up care and management. It means that your pets can see the faces they know and feel better in our care.

Orthopaedics v2

Cardiac

We offer cardiac work ups here at companion care. We have a high tech ultrasound machine that allows our veterinarians to perform echo scans and echocardiograms to be able to identify and diagnose any congenital abnormalities or deterioration of the heart. This allows are vets to be able to better manage your pet’s veterinary care from first diagnosis to ongoing care and management.

Cardiology

High Internal Medicine

The veterinarians here at companion care Croydon are very skilled when it comes to internal medicine. Utilising the features we have here like blood testing and ultrasonography to be able to make a diagnosis of what is going on with your pet. It allows for a structure plan to get your pets back onto the road to recovery or general management of conditions they may have.

I qualified and obtained my MRCVS Veterinary Degree from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1994. Since then, I have worked in 2 main practices, the last being local here in Croydon. Having done long stints in my two main jobs, it enabled me to form a great bond with my clients and their pets, most of whom I now consider my friends.

This in turn has made it easier for me to get involved with them at a deeper level and provide very high quality Veterinary care to my patients, this level of care being what I am especially passionate about. I have a wide experience in most surgical and diagnostic procedures and have a particular interest in Internal medicine and Abdominal Ultrasonography. When I am not working, I love tennis, whether playing, watching or going to Wimbledon and also travelling and eating out. Having the time to enjoy my hobbies is however highly dependent on my 2 adorable cats who love to wrap me around their little paws!!

I graduated in Spain at Alfonso X El Sabio University in 2014 where I studied Veterinary medicine. I then worked in a variety of hospitals in Spain and performed a rotating internship in a referral Hospital. I then wanted to broaden my experience in Veterinary Medicine so in 2019, I left Spain and obtained my MRCVS membership, and I am now working as a veterinary surgeon in the UK which I find very rewarding .

I am very passionate about internal medicine with a special interest in oncology. I pride myself on providing the best standard of patient care for all of my hospitalised patients and enjoy building relationships with clients in my consultations too.

I have a cat called Sort and a Labrador cross called Timonet, who I absolutely adore- they do say dogs are a man’s best friend! I regularly visit Spain to see my Spanish friends and family who I miss a lot. However in my spare time locally I enjoy long walks with Timonet, eating out with friends and going to concerts.

In my spare time I enjoy looking after my son, running, travelling and cooking. I also have a lovely rescue cat called Sophie who I took on as a stray.

I have been working in the Veterinary industry since 2008, initially as a Receptionist, I joined Companion Care Croydon when it opened in 2011. In 2017 I achieved my dream of becoming a Registered Veterinary Nurse which I am very proud of. Since then I have progressed to deputy head RVN. I enjoy working closely with the head RVN to support the practice, coaching students and new staff members, and generally helping out the team anyway I can. I enjoy all aspects of the job but particularly like nursing hospitalised patients, giving them TLC and keeping them as comfortable as possible. Getting them well enough to go home is a great feeling.

In my spare time I look after my young son, we like going to the park and watching the birds and squirrels, and like spending time with family. Unfortunately I don't currently have any pets of my own but it means the ones at work get extra cuddles from me.

I have been with the practice since Christmas 2021, having previously completed 2 work placements in the practice which I loved! I have always wanted to be a Veterinary Nurse and was so excited when I got the opportunity to follow my ambition. I enjoy Nursing as it means I get to spend time with all our lovely patients, getting to know them, and hopefully help them feel better when they are poorly.

I have 2 dogs of my own, both Labradoodles called Max and Daisy, who I enjoy going on long walks or cuddling up with on the sofa. I also have a rescue hamster called Cappuccino, which means if we ever have a hamster in practice I’m called on to help as I have a knack for handling them!

It is my pleasure to join Companion Care Croydon with this amazing team. I have been working in the veterinary industry since 2017. I worked in two practices when I was in Hong Kong. One is a small veterinary clinic with mostly ophthalmology cases which I am very interested in, the other one is a 24hours hospital. I have learnt a lot throughout my time in these practice and I enjoyed it so much.

I moved to the UK in 2023 and my new chapter begins. I wish to learn more knowledge and skills here, while giving the animals the love they deserve.

I love walking my ‘son’, my rescue dog Circle from Hong Kong in my spare time. He was dumped near a rubbish bin when he was just few weeks old, but now he is the happiest dog because my husband and I love him very much! I am looking forward to exploring different beautiful places in the UK with both of them!

I Moved to London with my wife and “son” in Feb 2023. Spent 8 months in a practice as a patient care assistant in central London, broadening my skills and confidence. Hi, my name is Petra. I have been working in the veterinary industry for the past few years now and before that I worked in the hospitality/customer service business, so this role is a perfect combination for me. I have always had such a love for animals, and I am one of the crazy boxer ladies out there. My one and only boxer dog called Diego is living with my family in Hungary but I miss him every single day.

I take great pleasure in learning new things and get excited about new challenges. I like to socialise with people and if I'm able to help someone it genuinely makes my day. I really enjoy getting to know clients and their loved ones, having conversations and making sure they are happy and get everything they need. I love good jokes and fun around me, I personally think that laughter is the best medicine for everything.

In my spare time I read a lot of interesting books and enjoy all sorts of historical movies/series and I am really into fitness.

I joined Croydon Companion Care in October 2016 as Veterinary Care Assistant. Initially, I spent a lot of time on reception but also managed to help the vets and nurses in the surgery and since January 2018 my role changed to Receptionist. I very much enjoy helping clients and animals out front although I still occasionally assist the vets and nurses in the surgery.

Prior to joining I worked in the music industry for nearly 30 years! At the end of the day working with animals is a lot more fun and rewarding even though it can be sad at times.

I met my beautiful baby boy Rafa when I was at college studying Animal Management. I lost my first cat Luca after 17 years suddenly to cancer and soon after was asked to look after Rafa who was at the Blue Cross on site. I wasn't looking for another cat (losing Luca destroyed me) but after spending four months looking after Rafa, I knew I couldn’t be without him and the feeling was mutual. I brought my little monster home with me in August 2015 and haven’t looked back since.

I spend as much of my spare time as possible with Rafa (of course), Taco (my twin’s cat), my family and friends, going for walks, eating out and going to concerts (although I’ve been lucky enough to have seen all my favourite acts more than once now especially The Cure, The Killers and Pink).

Hello all, I'm Jess. Prior to this role at Companion Care Croydon I received my degree in classical antiquities from the university of Roehampton. Studying classics I took a particular interest in mythology, politics, and museum management and archive research. Whilst I loved my course and the subject is still a huge interest of mine, during my time working in museums I realised how much I loved meeting and helping new people. So I searched for the perfect job, combining a love of people and animals- and here I am!!

I have always loved animals, and over the years I have owned nearly everything. From bearded dragons, gecko's, gerbils, guinea pigs and rabbits to snakes and scorpions. I have two dogs (Percy a cockapoo and Eevee the Jack Russell) and my rabbits River and Rory (who is posing with me in the picture above). In my spare time I read a lot, enjoy watching films and drawing.

Hello, I'm Faye! Before joining the lovely team at Companion Care Croydon, I spent just over a year travelling around Australia. I loved my time exploring and managed to see some amazing sights and animals (surprisingly, very few creepy crawlies and snakes!).

Prior to travelling, I enjoyed being a manager at a pub/hotel but have decided to move on from pouring pints to helping pets!

Although being a Client Care Advisor is a completely new role for me, I feel like I’ve already learned so much about how we help your fur babies and I love seeing all of their unique personalities- especially the ones who get their sparkle back after seeing us.

I enjoy seeing friends in my spare time, going to the gym and looking up my next holiday destination!
